End of Summer Celebration Receives Beltz Grant

Dr. John Beltz gives Stephanie Juhl, Programming Event Coordinator, City of Watertown a check for $8,243 to support Sounds of Summer End of Summer Celebration.

The Beltz Foundation Downtown Watertown Special Events Grant Program awarded its first grant to the Sounds of Summer End of Summer Celebration. The grant program, set up by Dr. John Beltz Charitable Foundation, provides up to $10,000 in funding for events that contribute to the unique identity of downtown Watertown.

Upon awarding the grant, Dr. John Beltz said, “We’re glad to have Steph and the Town Square Programming Commission help facilitate events at the Bentzin Family Town Square. This unique asset to our community is bringing residents and new visitors downtown. It’s helping to drive improvements on Main Street and beyond. I’m pleased to support this and other events and business developments with this grant program.”

The event takes place on Saturday, August 26 at the Bentzin Family Town Square. The evening kicks off at 5 pm with kid’s activities and food including Kart Park, a Bounce House, face painting, and balloon twisting. The Pizza Ranch, C&J BBQ, Big Daddy’s Dawg House, Ben’s Pretzels, and the FFA Ice Cream Cart will be selling food and yes! Watertown will be serving beer and seltzer. The Yankee Dutchmen Marching Band performance begins at 5:30 pm. The evening continues with DJ Shawna’s amazing sounds and laser light show starting at 7 pm.

“I am so grateful for this grant,” said Stephanie Juhl, Programming Event Coordinator, City of Watertown. “The Bentzin Family Town Square has been filled with exciting activities all summer…this huge, end of summer celebration could not have been possible without the Beltz Grant. I invite everyone to meet me at the Square.”

The Watertown Redevelopment Authority (RDA) oversees the Beltz Grant Programs. More information and grant applications for the programs can be found under the About: Programs.
